Kate Skinner

Physical Therapist DPT, HFI, CMP

Kate received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana in 2005. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Nutritional Science from Montana State University. Kate is certified as a Mulligan Practitioner, and as a Health Fitness Instructor by the American College of Sports Medicine. She has advanced training in Primal Reflex Release Technique, completed the Strategic Orthopedics Spine System training through the American Back Pain Center, is a certified ASTYM provider, completed visceral manipulation training, and neural manipulation training through the Barral Institute, and certified in Functional Dry Needling. Kate has a special interest in chronic pain, hypermobility related disorders, and abdominal adhesions. Kate first became interested in physical therapy after struggling with unknown hypermobility related pain and sports injuries. She also developed a greater understanding of rehab after undergoing two hip reconstruction surgeries and the 6-month recoveries. Kate enjoys spending quality time with her husband and four children, as well as hiking and skiing.

Lisa Bakker

Physical Therapist DPT, OCS

Lisa earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana in 2011 after earning her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from the University of Montana. She obtained a board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2015, has advanced training in visceral and neural manipulation through the Barral Institute, continued education from the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) and is a certified ASTYM provider. Lisa has a special interest in chronic pain, women’s health, and scar tissue related pain.  She places special emphasis on functional exercise and manual therapy to help her patients regain mobility and quality of life. She also works closely with the golf community. She specializes in golf injury and helps regional golf pros and amateur golfers to improve their ability to play without pain. Lisa was raised in the Bitterroot Valley and along with her husband and two boys is happy to call Missoula home.

Mariah Scott

Physical Therapist DPT

Mariah was born and raised in Billings, Montana. She earned her BS in Food and Nutrition at Montana State University before moving west to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana in 2019.  Since graduation, she has developed her practice helping people across the life span with orthopedic injuries, dizziness/vertigo, chronic pain, hypermobility syndromes, and GI dysfunction. She has taken several continued-education courses in visceral manipulation, neural manipulation, and vestibular dysfunction. She also has special interest in treating the foot and ankle. Mariah combines functional exercise with manual therapy to help promote long term improvement in mobility and symptoms, and help people get back to the activities they love. Outside of work, she enjoys being active, spending time outside with her two dogs, and watching Montana Griz and Denver Broncos football in the fall.

Rebeccah McMillan

Physical Therapist

Rebeccah was born and raised in Montana and graduated from The University of Montana with her BSPT in 1996.  She has over 25 years’ experience as a physical therapist and has pursued additional training in orthopedics, chronic pain, postural restoration, and manual therapy including advanced Functional Dry Needling, strain/counterstrain and Muscle Energy Techniques. Rebeccah enjoys treating a variety of conditions and educating people so they can move better as well as understand their movement patterns and mechanics in order to live and recreate to the best of their ability.  

Outside the clinic she enjoys hiking, skiing, gardening, and traveling.

Andrew Sloan

Physical Therapist DPT

Andrew earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California in 2017 after earning his undergraduate degree in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2013. He is certified in Level 1 Trigger Point Dry Needling and plans to pursue board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. Andrew has a special interest in treating a variety of orthopedic conditions, most notably shoulder, neck, and knee pathology, including extensive experience in post-operative rehabilitation. He utilizes an assortment of treatment techniques but places a special emphasis on functional exercise and manual therapy such as dry needling, Mulligan mobilizations, and Muscle Energy Techniques to help improve mobility and reduce pain. Andrew has a passion for educating patients on how their body moves and helping them to understand how to move efficiently for optimal quality of life. Andrew was born and raised in Midland, TX, but along with his wife and two sons is now happy to call Missoula home.

Front Office Coordinator

Vanessa works in the front office scheduling and assisting patients, improves office organization, and completing billing authorization. She moved to Montana from Virginia in 1989. She brings multiple skills from her diverse background that improve the clinic function. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and two grandchildren as well as yoga, mountain biking, hiking, or anything involving the majestic mountains of Montana.  She catalogs her hiking experience on her blog; http://hikeclimbscramble.blogspot.com. Amie is a Missoula native, born and raised in the O’Brien Creek area, west of Missoula.    She has worked in customer service for over 35 years, with the last 7 in health care.  She loves to travel with her husband,  especially to Mexico and spend time with her 2 sons, daughter in law and grandson.  She also enjoys spending time with her dogs Kira and Nugget, true crime shows,  and has recently discovered paddle boarding!

Sarah is a Northwest native who moved to Missoula with her two children in 2017. She comes from a diverse background of Caregiving turned corporate accounting. Sarah works in the front office assisting patients and scheduling. When she is not at work you can find her enjoying nature through fishing, paddleboarding, camping, and hiking.

Mary is a native Montanan who now calls the Bitterroot Valley Home.  She helps facilitate the smooth running of the front office. She loves spending time with family and attending Grand Kids games and activities. As an avid gardener she enjoys creating new garden beds and finding new nurseries to explore.

Business Manager

Jody started GDPT with Kate Skinner in 2013 working tirelessly to get the clinic up and running. His background is in engineering, and he continues to make sure the business runs smoothly and efficiently working on everything from fix-it projects, to graphic design and lay-out, to taxes and business management. You don’t see him very often in the clinic but he is always working behind the scenes.
